This is the first set of six panels being delivered.
.
.
The first set of batteries are golf cart
batteries that I bought locally. The battery box was built using the wood
from the shipping pallet for the panels. Cement was poured on the bottom
first, with a layer of styrofoam and boards under the batteries.
.
.
We started off using one inverter and a 240
volt transformer, but there was not enough power to run the well pump. Every
thing else worked great. The golf card batteries did not enough power to
make through the night .
.
.
Next we upgrade the batteries from 105 AH to
these Trojan L16E's with 370 AH each. Now we have more than enough to make
it through the night.
.
.
The second set of six panels was added before
the battery change. Then we added a second inverter, and removed the
transformer. Now the well pump also works.
The inverters are Xantrex TR2424's the charge
controllers are Tristar TS60's. The batteries are set up in 2-24 volt
strings
The panels are 200 Watt Sun Solar giving a
total of 2400 watts.

Finally got around to setting up one of the
rain water collection sites. These three barrels will fill up with about
1/4" of rain. This down spout covers only about 1/4 of the roof area on the
house. Next will be to run some tubing to the garden and the trees. I
already have a small pump to use, it will gravity feed, slowly.
